Admission Criteria

Both EU and non-EU applicants shall have a shall have a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or other degrees in scientific areas that can be assimilated, and which will be evaluated on a case by case basis from the Evaluating Committee, or have gained a minimum of 180 ECTS in one of these Bachelor degree programmes. Students who are enrolled in a three-year university program and expect to gain such qualifications within June 30th, 2014 are also eligible.

The candidates shall have a good knowledge of the English language, proved by a proficiency certificate (TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge, Medium of Instruction or other forms of statement). Self-declaration of proficiency is not acceptable and will automatically exclude the applicant.

If a candidate wishes to join the international path starting from Aston University or spend more than one year there, the requirements are:
    •    IELTS 6.5 overall with min 6.0 in each section;
    •    TOEFL IBT 100 overall with minimum of 21 in Writing and Listening, 22 in Reading and 23 in Speaking;
    •    Pearson Academic score of 61 overall with minimum 59 in each area.

Technische Universität Berlin requires certificated German language knowledge. The following certificates will be accepted: passed DSH 2, TestDaF (at least 16 points) or an equivalent (legalized copy). The certificate must be presented before the beginning of the 2nd semester to allow the student to improve his/her German language knowledge once arrived in Berlin.
For admission Technische Universität Berlin also requires an English language certificate:
    •    TOEFL-Test internet based (at least 80 points)
    •    FCE FIRST Cambridge Certificate of English (level B)
    •    IELTS International English Language Testing System (at least 5 points)
    •    UNIcert II
    •    CET-6


Applicants will be required also to submit a study curriculum, transcripts or list of exams taken, motivation letter, reference letters, and, where applicable, proof of previous professional and/or research experience and publications relevant to the contents of the Masters programme.
